About Dynamic Sports

Training Focus:  Training is firstly about helping people improve the function of their body and to help athletes become better at their sport.  A structured training program is the key to reaching one's potential.  Dynamic Sports Training can help you achieve that potential.

Background
Marlon Familton began playing golf in 1977 at the age of 13 at Golf Land Driving Range & Pro shop in Tacoma Washington.  He started roller speed skating at the Tacoma Roller Bowl and competed nationally, but discovered a love of cycling while training for skating. Racquet ball, tennis, weight lifting all culminated for a passion for coaching cyclists which started in 1999.

Certification
Marlon is licensed through USA Cycling as an Expert Level Coach since 2002 and is also certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).  He is also an Advanced Level Metabolic Typing Advisor

I am most proud of becoming a C.H.E.K. Certified Golf Biomechanics.  C.H.E.K." stands for Corrective High Performance Exercise Kinesiology and is a holistic and comprehensive approach to improve health and fitness.

"Using this specialized knowledge I help people improve their flexibility, balance, core strength, and health while improving their golf game.  My training programs become sport specific by implementing what I've learned and am learning through the C.H.E.K. Institute. They are well proven to work and not generalized weight training.  Professional athletes and everyday people around the world are utilizing this training approach to improve their game and their lives."

Additional course work has included:

  • Scientific Back Conditioning
  • Scientific Core Conditioning
  • Swiss Ball Training
  • Advanced Program Design
  • Considerations for training females
  • Medicine Ball Training

Avoiding the gym?
Strength training is critical for everyone, but only after you've rebuilt your balance and stability.

Sport is rotation! Joint in your body must rotate in order to move without injury. Any inhibited joint will force your body to compensate. These compensations lead to injury.

Did you know? Your postural alignment will dictate how efficiently you can rotate. The better your posture, the more efficiently you can move (less effort) and the better you recover.
